2025 Grants
In 2025, the Foundation awarded 14 grants totaling $150,740, turning hard work and generosity into real action. Each grant represents meaningful support for programs and partners that strengthen New Hampshire’s outdoors and the people who care for them, proof that together, we truly made a difference.
Wild Times for Kids Publication
This grant supports the writing, printing, and statewide distribution of the 2025 Wild Times for Kids magazine, delivering engaging wildlife education to approximately 45,000 students in grades three through six across New Hampshire. The publication helps educators introduce wildlife, habitats, and outdoor learning in a fun, accessible way that builds curiosity and appreciation for New Hampshire’s natural world.
Great Bay Discovery Center - TOTES Program
This grant supports the Teachers on the Estuary workshop at the Great Bay Discovery Center, providing hands-on training for middle and high school educators focused on coastal fisheries and wildlife movement ecology. The program equips teachers with real-world experiences and tools to bring New Hampshire’s coastal ecosystems into their classrooms.
Great Bay Discovery Center - Bug Fest
This grant supports Great Bay Discovery Center’s 2025 Bug Fest Science Week, a hands-on education program designed to engage youth and families in science and wildlife learning. The funding helped deliver interactive activities that spark curiosity and build appreciation for New Hampshire’s natural world.
Schoolyard Action Grants
This grant supports the Schoolyard Wildlife Action Grants program, awarding funds to New Hampshire schools to create hands-on wildlife habitats such as pollinator gardens, bat houses, and schoolyard monitoring projects. The funding helps students connect with wildlife on their own school grounds while building long-lasting outdoor learning spaces across the state.
Phase II Discover Room and Wildlife Habitat Displays
This grant supports Phase Two of NH Fish and Game’s Discovery Room, enhancing an interactive space that helps visitors learn about New Hampshire’s wildlife and outdoor traditions. The funding strengthened public education and engagement through hands-on exhibits designed for families, students, and the broader community. Educating thousands of kids and families throughout the year.
Watershed Educators Workshops
This grant funds curriculum materials and hands-on supplies for NH Fish and Game’s Wildlife and Watershed Educator Workshops, strengthening professional development for educators statewide. The support helps teachers reach thousands of students each year with engaging lessons about New Hampshire’s wildlife and waterways.
Kilham Bear Center Cub Barn
This grant supports critical infrastructure for the Kilham Bear Center’s new cub barn, improving care for orphaned and injured bear cubs during high-intake years. The funding ensures reliable utilities needed for safe, round-the-clock wildlife rehabilitation.
NH Jr Bassmasters Grant
This grant supports volunteer boat captains for the NH Junior Bassmasters by helping offset fuel costs needed to run youth bass fishing tournaments. The funding helps retain volunteers and ensures young anglers can continue gaining outdoor skills, leadership, and a passion for fishing.
NHEE’d to Get Outside Outdoor Education Program
This grant supports the NHEE’d To Get Outside program, providing small grants that help schools and organizations offer hands-on outdoor learning experiences for students across New Hampshire. The funding helps connect thousands of students to nature while strengthening outdoor education and stewardship statewide.
Barry Conservation Camp Maintenance
Supporting improvements and maintenance where youth learn outdoor skills and leadership while becoming stewards of New Hampshire’s natural heritage. Barry Conservation Camp is the only conservation camp in NH.
Trout in the Classroom Educational Grant
This grant provides essential aquarium chillers to expand Trout in the Classroom, allowing more schools to participate in hands-on brook trout education and further investing in the next generation’s outdoor enthusiasts. The funding helps reach more students while strengthening long-term watershed education across New Hampshire.
Law Enforcement Dock
This grant funds the full replacement of NH Fish and Game’s aging saltwater dock at the U.S. Coast Guard station in Portsmouth, providing a safe and reliable base for marine law enforcement operations. The new dock ensures Conservation Officers can quickly deploy vessels for patrols, emergency response, and marine resource protection across New Hampshire’s coastal waters.
