The New Hampshire Liquor Commission (NHLC) recently announced that a fundraising partnership with Bacardi USA and Horizon Beverages raised $10,000 in much needed funding for the Wildlife Heritage Foundation of New Hampshire. In the “750s for Change” campaign, Bacardi USA donated $1 for every Bacardi USA 750ml bottle purchased at New Hampshire Liquor & Wine Outlets throughout February and March to the Wildlife Heritage Foundation of NH. The official nonprofit partner of the NH Fish and Game Department, the Wildlife Heritage Foundation of NH works to provide critical funding for NH Fish and Game programs and services, such as the Orphan Bear Cub Rehabilitation Center, a special exhibit at the Discovery Center at Great Bay, and non-game endangered wildlife camera monitoring.

“Knowing how much people in New Hampshire treasure the outdoors, the New Hampshire Liquor Commission was proud to support this important campaign to raise needed funds for the Wildlife Heritage Foundation of NH. We are extremely pleased that Bacardi USA, with the help of our NH Liquor & Wine Outlet customers, was able to reach $10,000 for this great cause,” said NHLC Chairman Joseph W. Mollica. “Along with constantly striving to deliver record revenues for the state’s general fund, we make a point to foster meaningful partnerships between businesses and nonprofits. During the past year, NHLC has facilitated partnerships that have raised nearly $200,000.

barcardiFounded in 2006, the Wildlife Heritage Foundation of NH’s mission is to “enhance through private financial support, the critical conservation programs of the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department, so that people and wildlife will benefit for generations to come.” With no membership, the Foundation generates funding for NH Fish and Game solely through donations and the annual moose permit auction.

“With the reduction in moose auction permits this year, this support comes at a great time for the Wildlife Heritage Foundation of NH. We are extremely thankful for the support of Bacardi USA and the NH Liquor Commission in helping us achieve our goals of investing in New Hampshire’s wild places and wild things so future generations can enjoy all the wonderful outdoor opportunities this state has to offer,” said Steve White, chairman of the Wildlife Heritage Foundation of NH’s Board of Directors. “With the Wildlife Heritage Foundation of NH providing about $40,000 on average each year to about 20 NH Fish and Game grant programs, we know this $10,000 will have a significant impact on outdoor pursuits in New Hampshire.” To date, the Wildlife Heritage Foundation of NH has donated about $600,000 to NH Fish and Game, along with nearly double that amount coming from matching federal funds—making for a total investment in NH Fish and Game programs of more than $1 million.

“Bacardi USA is proud the 750s for Change campaign was able to raise $10,000 to help an organization whose mission is so central to what New Hampshire is all about: hunting, fishing, wildlife watching and sightseeing,” said Paul Power, vice president of spirits for Horizon Beverage Company, which distributes Bacardi products. “We hope this funding supports the Wildlife Heritage Foundation of NH in its continued effort to help NH Fish and Game fund items and programs like a dive team boat, canine search and rescue training and the signs and informational kiosks in all state wildlife management areas.”
