July 20, 2016 — The Foundation has received a grant from the Neil and Louise Tillotson Fund of the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation for capital improvements at Barry Conservation Camp in Berlin, NH.BCC addition 001

The $22,500 award will help fund a much needed addition to the dining hall/classroom at the popular north country camp.  The Foundation is challenged to match the grant award, and to date has received donations or pledges of $15,586.  A fundraising campaign is underway to raise the remaining $7,000 by the end of this year, so bid requests can be issued.

Donations to support the Barry Camp building addition should be sent to the Wildlife Heritage Foundation of New Hampshire, PO Box 3993, Concord, NH 03302, and marked “Barry Camp addition”.

Barry Conservation Camp hosts more than 260 campers each summer in seven week-long sessions. The camp focuses on increasing the campers’ knowledge of the natural world and the need to become stewards to conserve our natural surroundings, as well as opportunities to learn fishing, shooting or archery skills, wilderness survivor skills, or the newest session Junior Conservation Officer Week, focusing on the work and duties of a NH Conservation Officer.  For 30 years Barry Conservation Camp has thrived as the place where the love and respect for the outdoors is shared by one generation to the next.
