WHF student donation 6-14 005

Three enterprising students from Pennichuck Middle School in Nashua raised $206 for NH Fish and Game in May, as part of an 8th grade community service program, Make a Difference, that counts for 25% of the students grade.

Because of their love of fishing, Douglas Barker, Jack Gould and Patrick McCarthy chose to hold a fishing derby, receiving pledges from 25¢ to $2.00. They fished the Nashua River, catching rock bass, large-mouth bass, black crappies and bluegill sunfish.

They presented the $206 raised to Gail Huntting, Administrator of the Wildlife Heritage Foundation of NH, the official non-profit partner of the NH Fish and Game Department. “These young men are an excellent example of what the Foundation is all about: preserving NH’s wild places and wild things so that the young people in NH and generations to come can enjoy all the special outdoor opportunities and adventures”, said Ms. Huntting.
